More NCAA on way...
The NCAA Football season shifts gears into full season mode Saturday with a full slte of openers. Overnight...early Saturday morning Aussie time, I watch an awesome game between Temple and Villanova that sets the tone for an exciting season. Temple won the Philly Mayors cup match 31-24 in a game where the lead changed hands twice in the last few minutes. The game reversed the last second win for Villanova in last seasons opener that launched the Wildcats on their way to the FCS championship.
Saturday action sees the following games for ranked teams:
The ranking in parenthesis are from the Associated Press Top 25 rankings
Miami (OH) at Florida (4)
Look for the Gators to phone it in by say 46 in the opener.
Texas (5) at Rice
The Horn will blast the Owls by 40.
Oregon State (24) at TCU (6)
The beavers could pull out a close one here....I'll take Oregon State by 4 in an upset.
Utah State at Oklahoma (7)
The Sooners start their season with a massacre of the Aggies by 50.
Western Kentucky at Nebraska (8)
The Huskers should not be bothered much in this one and run away by 43 or so.
Eastern Illinois at Iowa (9)
The Hawkeyes by 52 in this one.
New Mexico at Oregon (11)
The Ducks will be quacking loudly after their win by 47.
Wisconsin (12) at UNLV
Th Badgers could go farther than most think this year and start out with a win in Vegas by 40 or more.
South Carolina State at Geargia Tech (16)
The Bulldogs travel to Atlanta for a pounding from the Yellow Jackets by 50 or more. They don't like Bulldogs at Ga Tech.
Tennessee Tech at Arkansas (17)
The pass happy Razorbacks should romp in this one by heaps...say 45.
LSU (21) at North Carolina (18)
The Heels will be tested in this one as uncertainty looms over their season but the defense will bail them out. UNC by 4.
Youngstown State at Penn State (19)
Jo Pa' wins another opener by 32.
Samford at Florida State (20)
The Seminoles start the post Bowden era by pounding Samford by56.
Arkansas State at Auburn (22)
Auburn by 41.
Louisiana-Lafayette at Georgia (23)
The Bulldogs won't be bothered and win by 38.
Coastal Carolina at West Virginia (25)
West Virginia by 50 at least.
