College Ball Time!!!

NCAA Kicks Off

Yes, the slates are clean, the campuses are coming to life and it is time for the new college football season to kick off.

The season starts in earnest on Thursday night with Top 25 teams Ohio State (2) hosting Marshall, Miami (Fla)(13) hosting Florida A&M, USC (14) visiting Hawaii and Pitt (15) visiting Utah.

The start of the season also bring out the prognosticators in us all as to who will finish the season in the number one spot.

My preseason Top 10:
  1. Va Tech
  2. Florida
  3. Miami, Fla.
  4. Alabama
  5. Ohio State
  6. TCU
  7. Boise State
  8. Texas
  9. Oklahoma
  10. Iowa

As for a few of Thursdays games:

Wake Forest over Presbyterian by 46
Middle Tennessee State upsets Minnesota by 4
Rutgers over Norfolk State by 23
Central Michigan over Hampton by 13
Miami over Florida A&M by 41
Ohio State over Marshall by 32
South Carolina over Southern Miss by 12
Utah upsetting Pitt by 3
USC over Hawaii by 22

Also action kicks off in the FCS...formerly Division 1 AA with a few interesting matchups. Among them are:

Rhode Island at Buffalo
North Dakota at Idaho
Eastern Washington at Nevada
Valparaiso at Western Illinois

I am particularly looking forward to Valparaiso's game and would like to wish a good season to Eli Crawford...#13 on the Crusaders roster and the starting free safety as I grew up with his father who is to this day a very close friend....good luck dude.

Ok, I'll be back tomorrow with more NCAA and high school stuff......let's tee 'em up!!!
