High School and College games on tap for Friday night
Back for week 2 of my high school looks. Last week I went 4 right 2 wrong in the home Piedmont District of Virginia and 20 right 7 wrong in my Varsity predictions at: http://www.roanoke.com/sports/highschool/varsitycast#forecasters . Not too bad considering the distance thing!!
This week in the Piedmont:
Martinsville at Heritage
Both teams are coming off of comprehensive beatings last weekend. I suppose I will give the slight advantage to the home team here and say Heritage in a close one.
Morehead (NC) at Magna Vista
The Warriors looked good last week, look for them to consolidate their fast start with another win in this Border Battle with the neighbours.
Tunstall at Rustburg
The Trojans lost to Dan River on the road last week and are underdogs at Rustburg. The Trojans will be 0-2 after this one.
Patrick County at Carroll County
Carroll County had a road loss to the Piedmont District last week at Bassett but should pull out a close one over Patrick County this week.
Patrick Henry at Bassett
The Bengals will be outgunned by the Patriots on their home field.
Carlise at Hargrave Military
The Chiefs will go down again to a tough opponent.
NCAA Friday Night
In a couple of rare Friday night games, Villanova will meet Temple in the battle of Philadelphia and Arizona will venture into the Midwest for a game with Toledo.
My Thursday night predictions went well...especially the prediction of a Pittsburgh loss. Other teams on the schedule should prepare to face a Panther outfit looking for redemption for the remainder of the season.
