The Piedmont has changed but predictions continue!!

High School football kicks off in Virginia...

Here I am again this season with my oft futile attempts at predicting the outcomes of high school football games in Virginia from afar.

My former district, the Piedmont District has been rezoned with GW-Danville, Halifax County and Franklin County now members but there are restrictions, etc.....too much for me to explain.

Anyhoo..here we go with the picks for Week 1

The season is upon us!!!

And now it counts

The NCAA Football season kicks off on Friday morning Aussie time with a selection of games. I will be doing a quick NCAA preview over the next day or so along with my usual Fearless Forecaster and Timesland picks from back in Virginia along with my weekly NFL picks.

Since the season is only hours away, I'll throw in a couple of my NCAA picks for the week.

North Carolina @ South Carolina (6)

The Gamecocks come in with great expectations for the season but may just take a back seat to Clemson in the state. The Tarheels suffered a few key losses and will improve as the season goes on but do not look for an upset here unfortunately.
