My Fearless Forecaster record in the Roanoke Times is going down hill rapidly!! Last week, I finished 9-11, putting me at 101-59 for the year. I am now officially behind all of the tipsters on the panel. It may get worse this week as I have been working out of town and did not make my picks in time.

Back in Virginia, the VHSL football season is getting close to playoff time and some District Races are very tight as teams jockey for position.

Thursday's NCAA/NFL picks

Clemson (18) visits Wake Forest on Thursday night's NCAA game and Louisville (16) will host once beaten Cincinnati Friday night. In the NFL, Minnesota will host Tampa Bay in this week's Thursday night match up.

The Deacons should not pose a major threat in this one but visiting Winston-Salem on a Thursday night could be testy. Still the Tigers need to keep their momentum going in the conference.

Louisville needs to keep their record perfect if they are hoping to climb up the BCS rankings. This one is basically an elimination game as far as the Big East conference title goes. It will be entertaining but give the slight edge to the home team.

Playing at home, Minnesota should get by in this one and come closer to putting themselves in playoff spot talk as the season nears the half way point.

Thursday night's football action sees the Seattle Seahawks travel to the Bay Area for a showdown with the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL and the #3 Oregon Ducks travelling to Tempe to face the once beaten Arizona State Sun Devils.
